Getting Back on the Horse, Blogging once again. Weekend Adventures
So here it is, Almost two months and no posts. I suppose that it really doesn't matter that much because I am probably the only one who reads this on a regular basis. Oh well, I suppose that this is more for my own personal entertainment than for any other purpose.
Anyways.........
The other day I was waxing philosophical at work about weekends. If I spend a weekend working at home, a lot is accomplished, but I feel that the weekend was pretty much wasted. It is not that I don't like accomplishing things, it is just that I like to have a good story when I get back to work and inevitably get asked "So how was your weekend?, What did you do?" "Good, I just worked around the house" just isn't a good response. I try to strive on the weekends to do things that will make a great story.
This weekend I have a great story.......
Nat and I have been seeing billboards all over town announcing a "HOME AND REMODELING SHOW" We thought that the show would be a good opportunity to see what we could possibly do, if we ever do get into the house that we offered on. Natalie suggested that we try to conserve as much fuel as possible ($2.70 a freakin Gallon!!!!!) and take the trax train to the Southtowne Exposition Center. I didn't personally recall a trax stop anywhere close to the expo center, but I was wiling to try anything.
You see, neither Natalie, nor I have ever ridden trax that far south. There should be a trax stop at a major convention center.......right? Common sense would dictate that there would be a stop there, but I have found that common sense is not really taken into consideration when transit decisions are made.
Natalie and I were on the train sitting peacefully, as I looked to the west I saw our intended stop zoom past us. We ended up getting off 6 blocks away from where we wanted to go, and had to walk in the afternoon sun to the expo center. Needless to say we got a weeks worth of excercise today.
Upcoming goal: write more often
